- Labor and Delivery Technology and Monitoring
-
Pampering moms may be our specialty, but providing a safe labor and delivery is our top concern. Throughout our network of care, our board-certified obstetricians, gynecologists, and pediatric hospitalists offer some of the most-advanced maternity care available. Our birthing center is equipped with next-generation wireless fetal monitors that allow our moms to get up and move during labor (which, studies show, can reduce delivery times). You can trust AdventHealth Sebring to be on call, with all the advanced technologies and innovations you want, for whatever you or your new family might need.
- Learning About Pregnancy, Birth, and Beyond
-
Your pregnancy and childbirth journey might begin with little more than a mother's knowing intuition, but we know that as your excitement and your belly grows, so does your list of questions. To help you get the answers you need and feel prepared, we encourage you to ask questions, eat right, and get your house ready. We can help.
We also offer a variety of pregnancy educational and support resources to help you feel ready. Schedule a tour of our birthing center. And sign up for our Childbirth Education and Preparation class for expecting parents or a monthly Breastfeeding Education class led by a certified lactation consultant. You can also schedule one-on-one consultations with our lactation specialists to help you better understand this new experience and bond with your baby. As the first of six facilities our area to be named a "Baby-Friendly Hospital" by the World Health Organization and UNICEF’s Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, we've long been an advocate for breastfeeding moms.
After your new family leaves our hospital, we’ll be in touch with postpartum support resources such as a new-mom support group, mental health screenings, lactation support, and more. Ask your Childbirth Coordinator for more information about our schedules, programs, and offerings to help you get ready for all that's to come or call Call863-402-3258.
- What to Pack
-
Here's a suggested list of things to pack for your delivery visit:
- Robe and slippers (non-skid)
- Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant)
- Extra pillows
- Supportive or nursing bra, if desired
- Panties (3 pair)
- Loose-fitting clothes to wear home
- Outfit for baby to wear home
- Newborn car seat
- Pediatrician contact information
- Screenings and Tests to Assess Pregnancy Risks
-
Your first priority is to protect your baby. That means thinking of all the things, large and small, that could put them at risk. If you’re concerned about pre-birth health conditions such as miscarriage, genetic disorders, and birth defects, let us provide you with accurate assessments and clear answers. We’ll start by taking a careful review of your medical past, family history, and overall wellness. Then, paired with some of the most-advanced prenatal screenings available, we’ll offer specific, helpful insights so you can make informed decisions before, during, and after your pregnancy.
- Specialty Care for Complicated Moments
-
You're on track for a smooth and healthy delivery, but should you or your baby need extra care, you’re never far from the specialty prenatal care services you need. When your baby is born, our pediatric hospitalist will visit your newborn and perform a physical assessment to make sure you're baby is healthy. If anything comes up, we'll be there.
As part of the AdventHealth network of care, we give you access to a range of resources designed with your child's best interests in mind. In the event of an emergency, have faith. Thanks to our partnership with AdventHealth for Children, we can transport your child to the Level III NICU at our Orlando, Florida location. Know that we have every important box checked, so you can focus on what’s most important.
- Finding Strength in Times of Challenge and Grief
-
There are times when matters fall outside of our caring hands. Should you experience an unexpected infant loss or miscarriage, we’re here for you, too. AdventHealth Sebring offers 24/7 pastoral services to support you during uncertain times. Your Birth Coordinator can also connect you to counseling services and loss support groups beyond our doors. At Blessed Beginnings, we’ll do all we can to guide and nurture your spirit through this tender time.
