Medical Review Officer
Many employers rely on an independent medical specialist who can review and explain results from employee health exams, as well as help ensure employers follow HIPAA guidelines.

Wellness Management
We help team members recognize unhealthy behaviors that can affect their health and offer solutions to improve their lifestyles. Metrics from surveys and testing give us data to identify opportunities like developing smoking cessation strategies and weight-loss management options.

Services That Keep Employees Healthy
- Biometric Screening
-
A biometric screening is a series of simple exams that help employees understand their health, similar to an annual check-up. Most biometric screenings include height and weight checks, as well as waist circumference measurement and lab work that might reveal abnormalities in the employee’s blood. We’ll share the results with the employee and offer suggestions that can lead to a healthier lifestyle. Because of HIPAA privacy laws, employers don’t see individual employee results, but can be given a summary of how healthy their organization is overall.
- Flu Vaccine
-
Influenza (flu) is a common seasonal illness that changes slightly every year. Most people who contract the flu experience mild symptoms, like upset stomach and fever, and recover within a few days. In rare cases, flu can lead to death. Because the flu is so common and contagious, many employers request that team members get flu shots to stay protected against severe flu symptoms.
- Tuberculosis Screening
-
Tuberculosis is a lung-related disease that can be spread relatively easily. Unfortunately, most people who have it are unaware. Many employers require new team members to be screened before they can begin work. We most commonly screen for tuberculosis with a skin test, where we inject a small amount of tuberculin fluid under the skin of your arm, where a tiny bubble forms. This is expected. You will be asked to return in a few days, so we can examine how your arm has responded.
- Vaccinations
-
We help protect employees from potentially dangerous illnesses like tetanus and hepatitis, both A and B, by administering a powerful biological agent that helps the immune system protect against these diseases.
- Vision Testing
-
Some employers may ask their team members to undergo a screening to make sure they can safely see. New or current team members may be tested for accuracy, color and distance. This is especially important for team members whose roles depend on accurate eyesight, like medical professionals and construction workers.

Workers’ Compensation
Even with strict adherence to safety precautions, injuries at work do happen. Our board-certified occupational medicine physicians are prepared to help employers and team members 365 days a year. Our online employer portal keeps us in touch with you, allowing us to send health status updates on a secure, encrypted platform. Our goal is to return your team as quickly as possible, so your organization can continue its mission.
DOT Program
- DOT Physical
-
As of May 21, 2014, Federal Motor Carriers (US Department of Transportation) Safety Regulation 49 CFR Part 391 Subpart E, 391.43 Physical Qualifications and Examination requires that medical examiners (physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, etc.) be Certified DOT Medical Examiners and must be listed on FMCSA's National Registry.
Our Certified Medical Examiners are experienced in and knowledgeable of the specific physical and mental demands associated with operating a commercial motor vehicle. They are also familiar with the criteria prepared by the FHWA that aids in making the qualification determination. They follow the specific DOT medical criteria guidelines, utilize the DOT Physical Examination form and provide the medical examiner's certificate for each participant in accordance with the regulation.
In addition, our Certified DOT Medical Examiners complete these tasks with public safety in mind and are willing to communicate with motor carrier safety professionals.
Our Certified DOT Medical Examiners are located at our clinics in Cedartown, Rome and Trion, Georgia. Parking for large trucks is also available at these locations.
