Protecting Our Patients
Nothing is more important to us than you. When you're in our care and well after you return home, your safety — including your rights and privacy as a patient — is our priority.
See the links below to learn more about your legal rights, as well as our programs that can help you stay safe and protected when you need health care.
What to Know: Legal Documents and Information
Patient Privacy: HIPAA
Your health information is personal and confidential. We are committed to keeping your health information private, and we are legally required to respect your confidentiality.
Patient Rights and Responsibilities
As a patient, you have the right and responsibility to be informed and participate in every decision that involves your care and treatment.
Financial assistance may be available to patients receiving non-elective (emergent) hospital services who are not covered by any form of insurance or government program. Verification of income and financial information is required.
Health Equity Promise
We comply with applicable federal civil rights laws and do not discriminate, exclude people or treat them differently on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability or sex.
We are firmly committed to patient safety. This includes your physical safety as well as protecting you from inadvertent exposure to hazardous materials and wastes, minimizing the risk of hospital-borne infections and ensuring that our hospital is prepared for any emergency or disaster.
These legally binding documents outline your wishes regarding life support, resuscitation and other interventions for both your health care team and your family members.

If you are a minor and have a protected health care condition, you may be able to maintain the confidentiality of information shared during a health care visit and the medical records for that treatment.
