Taking a sneak peek into the brand-new Florida Hospital Apopka, which is set to open in early December, you will find so much more than a brilliant state-of-the-art hospital with expanded health services for our local community.
Youll see smiling faces, inspiring messages of faith and hope and the team of expert physicians, nurses and staff that create the culture of human compassion that you can feel throughout every inch of the seven-story 320,000-square-foot hospital.
For the community, this means world-class care closer to home for residents of west Orange County with 120 private inpatient rooms, expanded surgical services, critical care, advanced surgical suites, expanded imaging, cardiology and a cardiac catheterization lab.
Some additional clinical services at the new hospital or medical office building include:
Gastroenterology and endoscopy services
Sports medicine and outpatient rehabilitation
The hospital will also expand the communitys access to emergency services, with a 30,000-square-foot emergency department, which is five times the size of the current hospitals ER space. It will be equipped to treat adults and children, with several pediatric-friendly beds and specially trained pediatric staff.
To keep the spirits of every patient, family and visitor lifted as well as bellies well-nourished the hospital will have a chapel and meditation garden, chaplain services, a full-service caf and Marketplace Gift Shop.
Florida Hospital has been a part of the Apopka community for more than 40 years, and this building symbolizes our commitment to Apopka for decades to come, said Tim Cook, administrator of Florida Hospital Apopka. We are excited to offer expanded services in this first-class facility as part of our mission to deliver health care close to home for everyone in Central Florida.
Above all, the new Florida Hospital Apopka is built on a heart of service that runs strong throughout the entire Florida Hospital network of care. While advancing in medicine and expanding more services to the west Orange County community, Florida Hospital Apopka keeps its longstanding mission-based culture close:
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus. Philippians 2: 3-5
