As Soon as You Come Through Our Doors
Welcome to our vision for whole-person care. Whether you’re at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach, formerly Florida Hospital New Smyrna, for a routine checkup or emergency treatment, your care and comfort are our top priorities. As soon as you enter our acute-care Florida hospital, you'll find thoughtful hospital amenities, patient resources, and a supportive team ready to serve. Our goal is to provide you with a comfortable, nurturing environment where you can heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Need a quiet place to recharge, pray or just think for a few minutes without any interruptions? Visit our meditation room, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you need someone to talk to, ask for a visit from one of our on-call clergy or spiritual-care volunteers. Your loved ones are welcome here, too — and they can visit anytime. From your friends and family to our medical staff and volunteers, you’ve got a huge support team.
From a Team That Truly Cares
- Hospital Amenities
During your visit to our New Smyrna Beach hospital, if you need spiritual counsel, a quiet meditation room, or information about visiting hours, just ask. Our vision for whole-person care means we’re dedicated to meeting your every need: physical, emotional, and spiritual.
As a faith-based organization, we realize that in times of difficulty, a little spiritual boost can go a long way. Our staff chaplain is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and volunteer clergy of various faiths are also on call to talk with you or your family members. They’re happy to provide emotional or spiritual resources, intervene in a crisis, advocate for your needs, or visit with you after regular business hours. To speak to staff or volunteer clergy, simply ask your nurse.
To make sure your spiritual and emotional needs are met, we also provide spiritual-care volunteers. Empathetic and supportive, these volunteers will help you find needed information, contact a leader from your own faith community, and visit whenever you need someone to lean on.
Sometimes a quiet, peaceful space is just what you need for emotional healing. Our meditation room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to people of all faiths. It’s a safe place for reading, reflecting, praying, worshipping, or just enjoying the silence. You’ll find it on the first floor in the Patient Tower lobby.
- Hospital Parking and Getting Here
Free on-site parking is available for all patients and visitors.
- Hospital Visiting Hours
Your loved ones empower you to heal. Their presence lifts spirits, inspiring you with greater happiness and health. Our visiting hours are from 7 am to 9 pm daily. You’re welcome to visit during that time — as long as you approve and don’t have any limiting medical issues. If you’re not sure about this, ask your nurse.
- What to Bring, What Not to Bring
We know a visit to the hospital can be stressful, but we want to make things as easy as possible for you.
What to bring to the hospital:
- A list of allergies to food, medication, or other items
- A list of prescriptions, but allow us to dispense your medications while you’re here
- A photo ID and your insurance card
What to leave at home:
- Personal valuables — leave your possessions with loved ones for safekeeping
- Personal items like a toothbrush and/or pajamas (You can bring these items from home, or we can provide them for you.)
- Pastoral Care
A hospital stay can be an unexpected, anxious and lonely time, not only for loved ones, but family and friends as well. AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach knows that your spiritual care is also an important part of the healing process. That’s why members of the Department of Pastoral Care are available to you and your loved ones during your time in the hospital, providing you with spiritual care and support.
Contact a Chaplain
Patients, their family members or friends can request a visit from a chaplain, and we are also available to assist clergy or other pastors coming to visit their congregants.
The Spiritual Care Department can be reached at Call386-424-3840, or you can ask one of the medical staff to contact the Chaplain on duty.
