We strongly encourage parents to be enrolled and attend classes between 28 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. Register for virtual classes today at BabyPlaceAcademy.com.
- What to Pack
Make sure you have everything you need to deliver your bundle of joy. We recommend packing the following items for your labor and delivery stay:
- Birth plan and prenatal records
- Cell phone and charger
- Comfortable clothing to wear home
- Copy of your advance directive, living will and medical power of attorney (if you have one)
- Current list of medications
- Driver’s license and insurance cards
- Infant car seat
- Outfit for your baby to have pictures taken in and to wear home
- Personal hygiene items (eyeglasses or contact lenses, comb, toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant and shampoo)
- Breastfeeding Support for Moms
To help with mother-baby bonding, we offer comprehensive breastfeeding education and support in the comfort of your suite. All nurses who staff the labor and delivery unit help mothers and babies start breastfeeding within the first two hours of life. A licensed lactation counselor is available for new moms who need a little assistance with breastfeeding.
While it's a natural occurrence, breastfeeding doesn’t always come easily and may require some coaching. We offer inpatient lactation consultations with an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). During your consult, the IBCLC can provide help with latching, feeding, increasing milk production, preventing and treating sore nipples, determining correct pump usage and sizing and much more.
For more information on breastfeeding or to schedule an outpatient consultation, please call our Breastfeeding Warm Line at Call407-303-7650.
- Postpartum Care and Support
Your care continues long after your baby arrives. Your baby receives expert care from AdventHealth for Children pediatricians while you receive the continued support of your obstetrician, lactation consultant and nurses with AdventHealth for Women. We’ll be with you to encourage mother-baby bonding and help you through those first hours of caring for and snuggling your newborn.
- The Baby Bunch Support Group
When you give birth, you become a member of a very special group: new moms. The Baby Bunch is now offered virtually as a weekly gathering for new mothers where you can support one another and share parenting tips, milestones and joys.
- Access Our Neonatal Care Network (NICU)
As part of the AdventHealth family, you're connected to our network of neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). In the event your baby needs extra special care, rest assured knowing that they have access to experts at AdventHealth Daytona Beach's Level II NICU and AdventHealth for Children Level III NICU in Orlando.

Our multidisciplinary approach to care ensures you and your baby are fully supported before, during, and well after your labor and delivery.
