Guiding the Future of Nursing

Our nurses are dedicated to integrating evidence-based practices into their daily patient care. This approach ensures that the care provided is grounded in the latest research and best practices, leading to improved patient outcomes. Nurses meticulously review and apply current research findings to their clinical practice, ensuring that treatments and interventions are effective and up-to-date.

In addition to incorporating evidence-based practices, our nurses are actively involved in nursing research. They participate in research projects, which help develop new knowledge, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to explore innovative solutions to health care challenges.

By engaging in research, our nurses help to advance the profession and improve patient care standards. Their involvement in research also provides opportunities for professional growth and development, further enhancing their ability to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

Our Professional Practice Model

Nurses and nurse leaders across our AdventHealth network of care shared their voices and together developed our Professional Practice Model. This model represents current and future nursing practice while aligning with our service standards — Keep Me Safe, Love Me, Make It Easy and Own It.

The heart-shaped model illustrates how nursing efforts enhance quality and safety by utilizing evidence-based practices to shape the philosophy, culture and decision-making of all AdventHealth nurses.

Recognizing Extraordinary Nurses

The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award honors and celebrates the skilled, compassionate care nurses provide every day.

After his death in 1999 from autoimmune disease complications, the family of J. Patrick Barnes created the award to publicly thank all nurses in honor of the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his loved ones during his hospitalization.

Sunshine Award for Extraordinary Team Members

The Sunshine Award was created to recognize extraordinary patient care provided by Patient Care Techs and unlicensed personnel. The collaborative effort between these team members and nurses enhances the overall quality of care and ensures that patients receive the attention and support they need throughout their healthcare journey.
