AdventHealth Kissimmee PGY1 Residents

Amaury Santiago Malave, PharmD

Hometown: Carolina, Puerto Rico
Pharmacy school: University of Florida

Amaury chose AdventHealth due to having past rotation experiences as a pharmacy student where he witnessed the importance pharmacists had in improving patient outcomes. The culture and presence AdventHealth has in Central Florida also played a factor as it continues to grow. Amaury is most excited to be challenged and learn as much as he can from his preceptors. Currently, his interests are infectious disease and critical care medicine. Outside of work, Amaury enjoys being with his new puppy, Luxio, going out to dinner spots with his wife, and spending time with family. Amaury is not new to the Orlando area, he loves to go to theme parks and is a big Orlando Magic fan, where he frequents games at the Kia Center. At this moment, Amaury is unsure whether he wants to pursue a PGY-2. However, he knows that being an inpatient clinical pharmacist is his goal and this year at AdventHealth Kissimmee will give him the best opportunity to achieve that.
