Dr. Russo chose to early commit to the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Program at AdventHealth Celebration because of the diverse clinic options, positive learning environment, emphasis on leadership, and opportunity to develop her own service line. Jessica is looking forward to continuing to build relationships with her patients, bonding with her coresidents, and enhancing her precepting skills. Jessica enjoys going to farmer's markets, watching movies, going to theme parks, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones. Jessica's career goals post-residency are to pursue a full-time role as an ambulatory care pharmacist, become a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, and obtain board certification in ambulatory care. Dr. Russo also hopes to become an active preceptor and establish her own clinic in the future!

Rachel

Rachel Barker, PharmD

Pharmacy School: University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy
PGY1 Program: Mass General Brigham Wentworth - Douglass Hospital

Dr. Barker chose AdventHealth for her second year of residency because of the vast opportunities to improve patient care in various different clinics that AdventHealth Celebration offers. Rachel is most excited for the opportunity to create a new pharmacy service line and for the opportunities to precept students. She has a passion for managing heart failure and is hoping to work towards initiating a pharmacist led heart failure clinic. Rachel enjoys reading, eating sushi, paddle boarding, hanging out with her coresidents and watching football. Rachel is new to the Orlando area and is looking forward to trying new restaurants with her coresidents and exploring the Disney parks. Rachel's career goals post-residency are to obtain a full-time ambulatory care position in one of her areas of interest and to become a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist.
