Ashani McDonald, PharmD
Hometown: Miami, FL
Pharmacy School: Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University
PGY-1 Program: Aza Health
Dr. McDonald chose AdventHealth Celebration’s PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Program because of the mission to deliver exceptional whole-person care and strive for excellence through compassionate professionals which aligns with her core values. She strongly believes that the ability to train in diverse clinical areas, such as diabetes management and anticoagulation, paired with transitions of care rotation will prepare her to solve complex cases competently, independently, and confidently. She is excited to diversify her disease state knowledge, learn about the non-clinical aspects of ambulatory care practices (i.e. billing/insurance, administrative tasks) as well as building relationships with patients, co-residents, preceptors, and providers. When she's not at the hospital, Dr. McDonald enjoys relaxing and practicing self-care, spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants, and traveling. Being new to the Orlando area, she wants to go kayaking at various state parks and attend the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot! Upon completion of residency, Dr. McDonald plans to become a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist and obtain a Clinical Ambulatory Care Pharmacist position. Her goal is to assist with the health disparity amongst the indigent population by being a patient advocate to ensure equitable care through resource management and provide patient education that will improve their quality of life.

When she's not at the hospital, Dr. Hassey enjoys spending time with family, friends and getting to water her plants. She also loves reading, Christmas and spa days.
