Valerie Alonso Collazo, PharmD
Hometown: Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico
Pharmacy School: University of Florida College of Pharmacy Gainesville Campus
Valerie chose AdventHealth for residency because she was inspired by some of her preceptors who graduated from previous AdventHealth residency classes. Their encouragement and mentorship helped Valerie discovered her passion for clinical pharmacy and pursue a PGY1 residency within a system that fosters excellence and compassion. This year, Valerie is most excited for starting her PGY1 residency at AdventHealth Altamonte and become a well-rounded pharmacist and further explore her interests in infectious disease. Valerie enjoys spending time with her 3 dachshunds, Ollie, Ozzy and Otto; going to F45 workout classes and dinner spots with her husband. Valerie is not new to the Orlando area but enjoys hanging out with her friends, going to Disney parks during the weekends and eating Disney snacks. Valerie's long-term goals include possibly specializing in infectious disease and working as a clinical pharmacist or in a related area where she can play an active role in Antimicrobial Stewardship, patient education, and collaborative care.
Jade Gallahair, PharmD
Hometown: Columbus, Georgia
Pharmacy School: University of Florida College of Pharmacy, Orlando Campus
Jade chose AdventHealth for residency because of its strong reputation for clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and its commitment to whole-person healing. Jade is most excited to expand her clinical knowledge and gain confidence in her decision-making as a pharmacist. Jade is especially looking forward to exploring new areas of pharmacy she hasn’t yet experienced. Outside of work, Jade enjoys spending time with her miniature dachshund, Leo. She loves taking him to local farmers’ markets around Orlando and discovering new walking trails. Although she’s no stranger to the Orlando area, Jade is excited to get an annual Disney pass and spend weekends at the parks with her friends. After completing her PGY1 residency, Jade is considering pursuing a PGY2 in either emergency medicine or critical care.
