Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South was recently honored with the Pathway to Excellence designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This is the fourth time that Texas Health Huguley has earned the distinction.
The Pathway to Excellence designation identifies the elements of an interprofessional work environment where nurses can flourish and feel empowered. The designation substantiates the nursing job satisfaction at Texas Health Huguley and identifies it as one of the best places to work.
“We have implemented strong programs of support for our nurses as they are the front line of patient care at the bedside,” said Tammy Ellis, RN, FACHE, vice president/CNO. “The administration takes pride in our dedicated nursing professionals and nurse leadership teams. This honor reflects the importance we place in top-quality nursing and identifies Texas Health Huguley as one of the best places for nurses to work.”
For an organization to earn the Pathway to Excellence distinction, it must successfully undergo a thorough review process that documents foundational quality initiatives in creating a positive work environment — as defined by nurses and supported by research. These initiatives must be integrated in the facility’s practices, policies and culture. Nursing staff in the organization validate the presence of the criteria in the organization through participation in a completely voluntary and confidential online survey.
As a Pathway to Excellence designated organization, Texas Health Huguley is committed to creating an environment where nursing staff excel and feel valued as integral members of the interprofessional health care teams. This designation confirms to the public that nurses working at Texas Health Huguley know their efforts are supported. The honor encourages other nurses to join their colleagues in this desirable and nurturing environment.
