Safety you can trust, compassion you can feel. 19 straight "A" safety grades for AdventHealth.

AdventHealth Hendersonville has been awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for the 19th consecutive time by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. This designation places AdventHealth Hendersonville among an elite group of hospitals nationwide and the only one in Western North Carolina recognized as “Straight A” hospitals for earning an “A” for fall 2025 and sustaining that grade for five or more grading rounds. Only about 12% of eligible hospitals achieve this distinction.

“At AdventHealth whole-person care that ensures every patient’s safety, well-being, and peace of mind is what drives the dedication of our team members every day,” says Daniel Tryon, President and CEO for AdventHealth Hendersonville. “Receiving 19 consecutive ‘A’ grades from Leapfrog is more than an honor; it’s evidence of our commitment to Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ and delivering care that puts people first. We are deeply grateful to our caregivers for their unwavering diligence and to our community for placing their trust in us. Your health and wholeness remain at the heart of everything we do.”

The commitment to safety spans the entire AdventHealth Hendersonville team, including the work in our labor and delivery unit, The Baby Place at AdventHealth Hendersonville.

In 2025, our team in The Baby Place advanced this commitment through innovative, evidence-based practices designed to help prevent complications following cesarean births. By focusing on each mother’s whole health – body, mind and spirit – we’re helping ensure the safest recovery possible and a nurturing start for every family we serve.

The Leapfrog Group assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to all general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

“My sincere congratulations to AdventHealth Hendersonville for upholding patient safety standards through thick and thin, achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade for 19 consecutive rounds of the Safety Grade,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “Consistently earning an A demonstrates a long-term, organization-wide commitment to putting patient safety first.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, injuries and infections that can lead to harm or even death. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
