AdventHealth welcomes the return of neurologist, Aneeta Jain Gupta, MD, DM, back to its team at AdventHealth Medical Group Neurology at Hendersonville*. Dr. Gupta is triple board-certified in Neurology, Sleep Medicine, and Clinical Neurophysiology and brings more than two decades of expertise and compassionate neurological care to our community.
After earning her Doctor of Medicine degree, and completing her Internal Medicine residency, and fellowship training in Neurology in India, she came to the United States for further specialization. In the United States, she completed her residency in Neurology at Duke University Medical Center, in Durham, NC and pursued further sub-specialty training in Epilepsy at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. She also completed Fellowship training in the areas of Sleep Medicine, Headache/Pain Management and Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She most recently completed her Fellowship training at Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, at the University of Arizona.
As the only Integrative Health Neurologist in the area, Dr. Gupta encourages wholistic healing through compassionate, integrative whole-person care and actively incorporates alternative, safe techniques such as acupuncture, yoga, Tai Chi and meditation.
“My focus is to provide comprehensive neurology care to the patients in a more wholistic way,” Dr. Gupta shares. “I often encourage patients to make lifestyle changes based on my training as an Integrative Health Practitioner. I have been trained in Yoga and Meditation and often provide these services in my clinic to promote neuro health and wellness.”
Dr. Gupta’s journey with AdventHealth Hendersonville began in 2002, when she became the community’s very first neurologist caring for adult patients. Following her service at AdventHealth, Dr. Gupta founded Carolina Neurology Center, where she has provided expert care to thousands of patients facing complex neurological challenges. Now, after years of serving our community through her solo practice, Dr. Gupta returns to AdventHealth Hendersonville.
Dr. Gupta’s clinical expertise spans headaches, epilepsy, stroke, sleep disorders, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s dementia and Parkinson’s disease. She offers advanced diagnostics and treatments including EEG, AEEG, EMG, Botox and VNS. She has cared for more than 15,000 patients in the Hendersonville and Asheville communities.
Dr. Gupta is married to an endocrinologist and is the proud mother of two sons. Outside of medicine, Dr. Gupta is a trained Indian classical (Kathak) dancer, and enjoys traveling, tennis, hiking and biking.
