Biography

Hector Lozano, MD, FACC, was born and raised in Colombia, South America where he graduated with highest honors from the University of Caldas School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. He received an honorary faculty appointment at New York Medical College and continued as Chief Medical Resident at the Metropolitan Hospital in New York City upon completion of his residency training. Dr. Lozano is the Medical Director of the Vascular Ultrasound Laboratory at AdventHealth Medical Group, a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a Faculty member of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at AdventHealth Orlando. He is the local principal investigator of the largest multicenter research trial for cardiovascular disease prevention in the past decade: the REDUCE-IT trial.
