Biography

Dr. Gireesh is an eminently qualified epileptologist who received his subspecialty training at Johns Hopkins University following his neurology residencies at New York University and Johns Hopkins. Board certified in neurology and epilepsy, he was a post-doctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD, and holds an advanced degree in medical science and technology from the Indian Institute of Technology. Dr. Gireesh’s research interests include seizure localization and transcranial neurostimulation, and his clinical focus has centered on epilepsy, long-term EEG monitoring in critically ill patients and intraoperative neuromonitoring. He is particularly interested in the use of intracranial EEG monitoring, Neuropace responsive neurostimulation and ketogenic diets for controlling seizures.
