Biography

Amy L. Carr, PharmD is a board-certified infectious diseases pharmacist practicing as the Clinical Pharmacy Manager and PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director at AdventHealth Orlando. She earned her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Arkansas followed by her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Florida College of Pharmacy – Gainesville. Dr. Carr completed PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, followed by a PGY2 Infectious Diseases Residency at Ascension Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas. Dr. Carr is passionate about ensuring patients receive the best antimicrobial regimens with emphasis on effective antibiotic selection, optimal dosing, and risk reduction (such as therapeutic drug monitoring, screening for drug-drug interactions, etc.). She loves that her role gives her the opportunity to share her passion for ID/antimicrobial stewardship with colleagues in nearly every discipline across the hospital. Her clinical and research interests include antimicrobial PK/PD, mechanisms of gram negative resistance, early postmarketing experience with new antimicrobials, and antimicrobial stewardship in large health systems.
