N.C., AdventHealth Hendersonville Welcomes New Director of Clinical Services for Medical and ICU Nursing Team

Mar. 9, 2022; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth is excited to welcome Sarah Wood, MSN, RN as the Director of Clinical Services, Medical/Surgical Unit and Intensive Care Unit/Progressive Care Unit. Wood brings her extensive experience in growing and building teams to her new role at AdventHealth Hendersonville.

Wood served as a nurse for many years in the Intensive Care and Progressive Care Units. She went on to earn her master’s degree in Nursing from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, UT. She has been in a Nurse Leader Role for 5 years, most recently serving as a Clinical Director at MultiCare Health System in Washington State.

In her role with AdventHealth, Wood is providing support in overseeing the Medical/Surgical and Intensive Care units. Some of her new responsibilities will include joining the Incident Command team and partnering with local colleges to increase AdventHealth’s RN and CNA application pool.

Wood was particularly drawn to AdventHealth Hendersonville because of the welcoming culture she saw from day one. “The culture that is present here at AdventHealth Hendersonville radiates kindness, collaboration, and a desire to serve their community members with excellent care,” Wood explains, “Because of this I was more than honored to join the team.”

“Sarah brings a blend of her compassionate commitment to caring for patients with a passion for constant learning and leadership development to our nursing team,” said Maureen Dzialo, MS, RN, NE-BC, AdventHealth Hendersonville Chief Nursing Officer. “This is an exciting time to be part of the AdventHealth nursing team as we bring Sarah into her new role and grow our ability to meet the care needs of our community with whole-person care.”

Wood is passionate about providing excellent care and service. She is known to be an excellent listener and collaborator, and a constant learner, who strives to be proactive and fair. “First and foremost, thank you,” Wood says, “It is an honor to serve as a leader in this organization and at AdventHealth Hendersonville. Secondly, I look forward to serving alongside each one of the members of this team and partnering together.”

Wood and her husband are high school sweethearts. They have three children, two Yorkshire puppies, and three horses. She and her husband are looking forward to making this area their new home!
