Mar. 17, 2023; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth Hendersonville has named Urogynecologist, Jeffrey B. Garris, MD, MS, FACOG, FPMRS, FACS as chief of staff.

Chief of Staff is a key role for AdventHealth and for the people who trust them for their care. The Chief of Staff will represent the AdventHealth Hendersonville physicians and advanced practice providers and work closely with the hospital administration to continuously improve the quality and safety of care. This role is a two-year term in which, Dr. Garris will also bring the providers’ perspective as a member of the AdventHealth Hendersonville Community Board.

For patients, the Chief of Staff plays a vital role in creating the whole-person care experience for every person, every time. “My goal is for patients to feel safe and confident in their care teams,” shares Dr. Garris. “As a Chief of Staff, I plan to support and expand the comfort of our patients and will continuously work for my responsibility to them.”

Dr. Garris is board-certified in Female Pelvic & Reconstructive Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynecology. He earned his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine in Wake Forest, NC.

Since joining AdventHealth in 2015, Dr. Garris and his team helped AdventHealth Hendersonville earn national designation as an Axonics Center of Excellence. Axonics, Inc. also recognized Dr. Garris for his advanced training with use of the bladder pacemaker technology and commitment to patient education and providing exemplary care to achieve optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Dr. Garris’s commitment to whole-person care not only includes his patients, but his colleagues, too. He is a member of the AdventHealth Clinician Well-Being Committee which works to support and equip providers through well-being issues such as managing the impact of the pandemic and physician burnout.
