A Long History of Caring for Our Community

Established To Serve Volusia County
The facility began as Fish Memorial in 1952 in DeLand, Florida. In 1994, the hospital was renamed Volusia Medical Center and relocated to Orange City to serve the growing population of southwest Volusia County. In 1996, AdventHealth (formerly Adventist Health System) purchased Volusia Medical Center and in 1998, renamed the facility AdventHealth Fish Memorial to honor the hospital’s benefactor, Judge Bert Fish.
-
Expanded To Elevate Care
AdventHealth Fish Memorial had a $15 million expansion in 2003, and the Fish Imaging diagnostic center opened in 2007 on the hospital campus. In 2015 Deltona Health Park opened as part of our continued promise to provide quality health care to the residents of Southwest Volusia County and Fish Imaging relocated to Deltona Health Park.

Even More Service Added
In 2017, AdventHealth Fish Memorial’s center for Wellness and Rehab Care opened. With this new consolidated location, AdventHealth Fish Memorial can care for more patients and offer additional rehabilitation services that are not readily available at many freestanding outpatient therapy facilities. In addition, the hospital’s community garden will be located adjacent to the Volusia Medical Center and will give occupational therapy patients the opportunity to practice fine motor skills related to gardening.
