AdventHealth to offer free eCare access during Hurricane Dorian

Central Florida South, — ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 30, 2019 — AdventHealth announced today that beginning Monday afternoon and throughout the storm, eCare visits will be free for Floridians and accessible 24 hours a day through the AdventHealth app.

“AdventHealth is committed to making it as easy as possible to get care when and where you need it,” said Dr. Scott Brady, AdventHealth Centra Care president and CEO. “We know residents are likely to be sheltered in their homes for extended periods of time and it is important to us to offer this level of care, allowing our patients to stay safely sheltered and still receive the care they need.”

These virtual visits are typically $49, but throughout the storm, users can access free, live and secure telehealth consultations from AdventHealth medical providers who will diagnose urgent health problems and recommend treatment.

Common conditions treated through eCare include: Cold and flu symptoms; skin conditions; seasonal allergies; urinary tract infections; lower back pain, minor burns, cuts, bumps and scrapes; and pink eye. If a prescription is needed, it will be called in to the patient’s pharmacy.

The AdventHealth app is available through mobile device app stores. Search AdventHealth to find and download the app. Once downloaded, create or log in to an existing AdventHealth account to have whole health at your fingertips. For eCare, click on “find care” on the bottom of the screen, and then click the icon for “set up a video visit.”

AdventHealth Outpatient Pharmacy

AdventHealth Outpatient Pharmacies will also remain open throughout the storm at two hospital campuses, AdventHealth Celebration and AdventHealth Orlando. AdventHealth Apopka Outpatient Pharmacy will now be open Monday from 9 am - 6 pm.

AdventHealth Centra Care

Eleven Centra Care locations are slated to be open on Monday. Check CentraCare.org for information to contact the closest location and confirm hours of operation once the storm has passed.
