Comprehensive Urological Care
- Bladder Cancer
-
Every year, almost 70,000 cases of bladder cancer are diagnosed in the United States —nearly all of them in people over the age of 55. When bladder cancer is diagnosed and treated in the early stages, it is usually highly treatable.
Bladder cancer treatment depends on several factors, including the type and stage of cancer and the patient’s overall health. But no matter your situation, you’ll be in expert hands regarding your treatment and recovery. Our physicians will work closely with your entire care team to create a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan. A multidisciplinary approach has been shown to produce higher survival rates for patients. Our top priority is getting you back to good health.
- Enlarged Prostate
-
While an enlarged prostate typically doesn’t cause major issues, some men may have trouble sleeping due to frequent nighttime trips to the bathroom. Other urinary issues, such as difficulty fully emptying the bladder, can also occur. For moderate to severe cases, surgery or laser procedures to remove obstructive tissue are the traditional treatment options. Although effective, these methods carry risks, such as erectile dysfunction, due to the use of heat.
One option to reduce these risks is called Aquablation therapy—a minimally invasive robotic technique that uses heat-free technology to precisely remove tissue without any physical incision. The procedure begins by creating a precise map of the treatment area using high-resolution ultrasound images. Aquablation is unique in that it’s the sole method allowing surgeons to have a complete view of the prostate throughout the treatment.
With this customized map, the surgeon uses a robotic system to direct a waterjet specifically to the targeted tissue. The waterjet phase takes just about five minutes, but each procedure varies depending on the prostate’s size, position and imaging process.
- Erectile Dysfunction
-
Erectile dysfunction (ED) affects nearly 30 million men. Most men feel uncomfortable addressing this issue with their physician, but silence isn’t a solution.
Our team is here to listen in a non-judgmental environment. Periodic problems with erections are not unusual, but persistent episodes of ED can be caused by conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes or heart disease. We offer a variety of treatment options — medications, diet and lifestyle changes and medical devices — to target the underlying cause.
We understand that ED can impact you both physically and emotionally, and we’re here to work with you on a comprehensive plan that will alleviate its impact on your life.
- Kidney Stones
-
The prevalence of kidney stones is increasing in America not only due to genetics but factors like diet and dehydration as well. We work with you to evaluate and treat your stones as quickly and efficiently as possible using minimally invasive techniques whenever possible.
We not only excel in treating kidney stones through non-surgical and surgical care, but we’ll investigate the root cause of kidney stones. We conduct metabolic studies and create a customized plan to prevent future stones from forming.
Treatment options include:
- Shock wave lithotripsy
- Ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy
- Percutaneous nephrolithotomy
- Robotic-assisted pyelolithotomy and ureterotomy
- Prostate Cancer
-
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men. But thanks to increased awareness, detection and treatment therapies, men are not only surviving, they’re thriving. Our expert team of physicians provides precise diagnosis and effective treatment options customized for each patient. Our surgeons use robotic-assisted and minimally invasive techniques to reduce the effects of treatment on your body. Many patients are safely monitored without needing any treatment at all. Our physicians believe in a personalized, comprehensive approach to care, working closely with you and your care team to get you back to optimal health.
- Urinary Incontinence
-
While it’s not usually life-threatening, it can disrupt your daily life. Our team will work to find the root cause of the incontinence through non-invasive testing. Once the cause has been identified, an individualized treatment plan will help decrease or eliminate your bladder control issues.
Depending on the cause and severity, treatment options range from medication and therapy to surgical procedures that include:
- BOTOX® injections
- Slings
- Sacral neuromodulation
- Tibial nerve stimulation
