A team of AdventHealth emergency physicians arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico, late Wednesday to begin their work on the island ravaged by Hurricane Maria.
On Thursday, the physicians began their exploratory trip and work at a hospital in the Carolina region. They also delivered supplies from Orlando including generators, chainsaws and medical items.
The physicians will help develop a long-term response plan to provide medical relief to the island.
Dr. Katia Lugo, who works at the AdventHealth Orlando emergency department, sent a video diary recapping their first day at the island hospital.
We will provide more information from the physician team as it becomes available.
