Shawnee Mission Health (SMH), a member of Adventist Health System, welcomes four new physicians including Piyush Jani, MD, Psychiatry; Andrew Waters, MD, Cardiology; Nichole Smith, MD, Endocrinology; and Dennis M. Jensen, MD, Primary Care.
Dr. Jani is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Kansas and Missouri State Boards of Healing Arts and the Gujarat Medical Board. He holds a certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates and received his Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) training from Truman Medical Centers. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the M. P. Shah Medical College in Gujarat, India, and completed his Psychiatry residency at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine and Center for Behavioral Medicine. Dr. Jani provides psychiatric care and ECT to inpatients at Shawnee Mission Medical Center (SMMC) and also sees patients in SMMC's Intensive Outpatient Program.
Dr. Waters is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Board-eligible in Cardiovascular Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in neurosciences from Washington College in Maryland. He earned a Master of Science in Hyperbaric Medicine and Doctorate of Medicine from Saba University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Diseases fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Waters sees patients at Shawnee Mission Cardiovascular Associates on the SMMC campus and at satellite office locations.
Dr. Smith is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Board-eligible in Endocrinology. She graduated from The University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at The University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Smiths fellowship in Endocrinology was completed at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a member of the American Medical Association, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and The Endocrine Society. Dr. Smith sees patients at Shawnee Mission Endocrinology and Diabetes Associates in the Georgetown Medical Building on the SMMC campus.
Dr. Jensen is Board-certified in Family Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Southwest Baptist University. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his residency in Family Medicine and his fellowship at AnMed Health Family Medicine in South Carolina. He recently practiced as a physician at Hope Christian Health Center and CareMore Medical Group in Las Vegas. Dr. Jensen sees patients at Shawnee Mission Primary Care Prairie Star in Lenexa, Kansas.
