It's normal to feel nervous when you need medical testing. Knowing what to expect can help empower you by lessening any anxiety you may feel and increasing your confidence.
Before your scan, we'll ask about your medical history, if you have any allergies and even if you experience claustrophobia so we can take steps to make the process more comfortable for you.
For some tests, we may ask you to change into scrubs or a gown and to remove any metallic jewelry or electronic devices. For certain scans, you'll need to fast beforehand.
Some scans require you to drink a liquid called a contrast (or we may inject it intravenously) to help us get a clearer look inside of your body. Most imaging scans require very little recovery time.
We're here to guide you from start to finish. After your test, a board-certified radiologist will look at your images and send the results to your provider. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. We're here to ease your mind.
