The AdventHealth Waterman Foundation recognized Dr. Jonathan Schroeder as Philanthropist of the Year, and Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute (FCS) as the Physician Group Philanthropist of the Year for their outstanding generosity and commitment to the community.

"Philanthropy isn’t just about writing checks – it’s about changing lives,” said Mabel Valdivia Diaz, executive director of the AdventHealth Waterman Foundation. “Dr. Schroeder and FCS have done just that, helping to fund initiatives that improve patient care, support hospital team members, and strengthen the well-being of the entire community."

Schroeder’s generosity has made a lasting impact and touched countless lives, helping the hospital’s Foundation extend Christ's healing ministry and inspiring others to give. His primary focus was supporting the AdventHealth Waterman Community Clinic. The clinic provides free medical care for the uninsured in Lake County and treats nearly 60 patients weekly.

FCS shares that same spirit of giving. Their support has directly benefited patients and hospital team members, helping to provide the best possible care.

Since its inception in 1985, the AdventHealth Waterman Foundation has helped fund critical health care initiatives. In the past year alone, the Foundation raised approximately $10 million and invested $3 million into hospital services and community programs.
