PALM COAST, Fla., February 29, 2016 Carol Bryant has been selected to serve as president of the Florida Hospital Flagler auxiliary.
In this role, Bryant will oversee the hospitals volunteers and will act as chairperson of the auxiliary's executive board. Additionally, she will report to the hospitals administration on the activities of the auxiliary.
This is a two year appointment. Bryant replaces previous president Flo McCarthy.
A Palm Coast resident, Bryant is a retired teacher who spent nearly 30 years teaching second grade in New York and New Jersey.
She has been a volunteer at Florida Hospital Flagler for more than 10 years and has interviewed and trained new volunteers, as well as served in the hospitals nursing units and in the same day surgery department.
Bryant is a member of the Florida Hospital Flagler Foundations 20/20 Society, a group of supporters with a shared vision of providing quality, state-of-the-art health care and community wellness to Flagler County. Composed of community individuals and corporations, the goal of the 20/20 Society is to raise $1 million by the year 2020 to aid in the advancement the local health care. Members of the society pledge to donate $1,000 each year over the next 10 years to the Florida Hospital Flagler Foundation.
Florida Hospital Flagler currently has nearly 300 active volunteers assisting in 25 departments throughout the hospital. Since 2005, the volunteers have provided more than 26,000 free blood pressure checks at the hospital and cared for more than 6,000 guests in the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Library since it opened in 2010. Financially, this organization has donated more than $ 1 million to the hospital since 1983.
