Recently, the RFID Journal announced the winners of its 10th annual RFID Journal Awards at the company’s 14th annual conference at the Orange County Convention Center. The goal of these awards is to recognize the organizations using RFID or Radio-frequency identification, which uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track objects. The winners of these awards, use RFID technology to solve a business problem or improve customer service in a new and innovative way. Florida Hospital was named one of the 2016 winners. Our team was named the “Most Innovative Use of RFID” for its use of data from its real-time location system to improve its processes, including the reduction of a surgical patient’s time in recovery by 10 to 24 minutes. Our Florida Hospital team developed, installed and executed a brand new OR Patient Flow solution that utilized RFID Technology to push the envelope on patient processing and revolutionize the patient experience.
