Family Medicine Residency Clerkship for Whole-Person Care
A clerkship in Family Medicine will prepare medical students for the rigorous career as a family medicine physician, offering close attention with family medicine providers that combines classroom teachings with real-world experience. The AdventHealth family medicine clerkship at the Hinsdale and La Grange locations is an intimate and competitive training program that runs up to eight weeks, and is designed for third-year medical students. Fourth-year medical students may also train in a sub-internship, where they will delve into mastering whole-person healing in a four-week rotation in intensive care, pediatrics and family medicine.
A Comprehensive Program to Educate, Inspire and Connect
Students admitted to the clerkship program will have access to resources designed to challenge their understanding of care and serve as the foundation for their career.
Students will gain hands-on experience in clinical rotations, meeting directly with patients and working alongside family medicine residents.
Students are encouraged to participate in lively conversations on care and will workshop toward understanding how to extend the healing ministry of Christ to every patient.
Home Health Care and Hospice
Resourcefulness, compassion and grace will be taught to students, as they learn to treat the wide range of conditions that lead toward care for the sickest of patients.
Lectures and Seminars
Leading experts in family medicine will share best practices for whole-person care, drawing from tried-and-true techniques, as well as the latest methods to today’s pressing health topics.
