PALM COAST, Fla., January 25, 2016 Florida Hospital Flagler has promoted Mary Hypes to serve as the nurse manager of the emergency department.
In this role, Hypes is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the clinical practice activities for Florida Hospital Flagler's emergency department nursing unit. She will oversee the nursing staff and ensure quality patient care is delivered in a professional and caring manner.
Hypes has nine years of nursing experience and previously served as charge nurse for a Level 3 trauma center with 32 acute beds in West Virginia.
She has been with Florida Hospital Flagler for two years, where she served as clinical nurse lead in the emergency department. In this role, she was the dayshift charge nurse in the emergency department and oversaw the daily functions of the patient care.
A Palm Coast resident, Hypes holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies Health Science. Additionally, she has completed both the Emergency Nurses Associations Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and the Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).
