Dr. Jennings, known for his dedication to advancing orthopedic research, is part of this global collaboration aimed at developing consensus protocols for managing infections associated with orthopedic procedures, including prosthetic joint infections. These infections represent one of the most challenging complications in modern orthopedics, making the work of ICMI—and contributors like Dr. Jennings—critical to advancing orthopedic patient care.
The ICMI focuses on creating comprehensive, evidence-based recommendations to improve patient care worldwide. “Learning and collaborating with this group of world experts allows me to bring back the latest knowledge and best practices to benefit our patients,” Dr. Jennings said.
At the conference, Dr. Jennings presented innovative strategies for preventing and treating joint infections, including new antibiotic protocols for penicillin-allergic patients and effective ways to minimize surgical risk factors such as diabetes and obesity.
