Diego Deharo and Tadd Cochran were awarded Gordon Hospitals prestigious Extra Mile Award. Deharo and Cochran are both employees of Gordon Urgent Care and were nominated for their leadership in organizing the Gordon Physicians Group Kickball Tournament, which ultimately raised over $2,000 for charity.
This special award was created by members of the hospitals Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to deserving employees selected by the hospitals directors.
Not only did Tadd and Diego create the tournament, they also handled all the logistics, said Jackson Norton, associate vice president of physician services. From getting the fields, trophy, sound equipment, t-shirts, referees, press, to marketing the event, and acquiring a large grill and cooks to feed 200 people, Tadd and Diego handled it all.
, who has been employed by Gordon Hospital for four years, said, I would first like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for without him none of this would have been reachable. I also want to thank the entire Gordon Urgent Care family because without them, this award would not have been possible. It is an honor to receive such a prestigious award, and I am extremely blessed to be a part of the Gordon Hospital family.
Leadership, determination, and compassion are words I would use to describe Diego, said Wendy Ormeroid, practice manager at Gordon Urgent Care. He exemplifies what it is to be a great employee daily.
Cochran, who has been employed by Gordon Hospital for nine years, said, I am truly honored to receive this award. I would like to thank my co-workers and everyone who helped with the tournament. I enjoy working for such a great organization and being able to serve my community.
is a team player, hard worker, and great with all patients, said Ormeroid. We enjoy his humor and his ideas to improve employee engagement in our clinic.
