David Weis has been named president and CEO for AdventHealth DeLand located in Volusia County, Florida. Weis will assume leadership on Jan. 18, 2021, and will report to Lorenzo Brown, president/CEO for AdventHealth Fish Memorial and CEO for the West Volusia market.

“David is an excellent leader and has made a tremendous impact on our organization,” said David Ottati, president/CEO for the Central Florida Division – North Region. “I am excited to see him take the role of CEO at AdventHealth DeLand, to build on the great work at that campus and partner with the team as they continue to extend our mission.”
In this role, Weis will work closely with his leadership team to develop and execute the strategic direction for AdventHealth DeLand, serving as an active partner in enhancing the network of care in the West Volusia market.
“I know David is passionate about building great teams, improving outcomes and delivering whole-person care to those we get to serve. I’m excited to partner in providing a more seamless experience for our consumers in the West Volusia market,” said Brown.
Weis joined AdventHealth in 2018, serving as vice president and chief operating officer for AdventHealth Daytona Beach. Prior to joining AdventHealth, he served as vice president of operations and chief operating officer for Adventist Health Ukiah Valley in Northern California, where he provided oversight of operations in the ambulatory and acute care areas of a 68-bed regional medical center with more than 800 employees.
“I look forward to working with the leaders, providers and team members at AdventHealth DeLand in delivering faith-based, high-quality and compassionate care to our patients and this community,” said Weis.
Weis earned a Bachelor of Sciences in biology from Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas, and a doctorate in physical therapy from Loma Linda
University in California. He later went on to earn Master of Business Administration in health care management from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He is an affiliate of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Daytona. He serves as chair of the Indigo Christian Junior Academy board.
In his free time, Weis enjoys boating, water sports, road cycling, photography and spending time with his wife, Melanie, and their two boys, Lucas (6) and Mark (5).
A search for a new vice president/COO at AdventHealth Daytona Beach is underway. Weis will temporarily serve in a dual role until a successor is identified.
