  • Ahmed Allawi, MD

    Ahmed Allawi, MD, MBChB

    Dr. Allawi is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in colon and rectal surgery. He most recently was on the junior faculty of colon and rectal surgery for AdventHealth Medical Group in Orlando. In addition to several residencies, he was previously a colorectal surgery fellow at Mayo Clinic.

    Anas Alsaleh, MD

    Dr. Alsaleh is a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist with board certifications in internal medicine and gastroenterology. Dr. Alsaleh has a clinical interest in stomach pain, ulcers, reflux, constipation and Crohn's disease. He is fluent in English, Arabic and Spanish and is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterology Association.

    Morgan Eckerd, MD

    Dr. Eckerd is a fellowship-trained interventional radiologist certified by the American Board of Radiology. He's a current member of the Society of Interventional Radiology. He specializes in interventional oncology, as well as percutaneous biliary intervention and endovascular post-surgical care. Dr. Eckerd brings extensive expertise in hepatic tumor embolization and ablation.

    Mia Fronteras, MD

    Dr. Fronteras is board certified in internal medicine and is a fellowship-trained physician in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. She provides comprehensive care for patients and specializes in diabetes, thyroid disease, lipid disorders, osteoporosis and pituitary disorders. She brings her experience and expertise to Tampa and is dedicated to providing the highest quality care.

    Harvey Greenberg, MD

    Dr. Greenberg is a radiation oncologist board-certified in medical oncology, internal medicine and radiation oncology. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, he fellowed at Harvard Medical School in radiation oncology and hematology-oncology.

    Michael Harris, MD

    Dr. Harris is a highly experienced gastroenterologist offering endoscopic expertise and medical management of gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. He is skilled in diagnostic and treatment therapies for conditions in the stomach and intestines, and he has a special interest in pancreaticobiliary pathology, GI cancers and reflux disorders. He regularly provides consultations for surgeons, oncologists and gastroenterologists for advanced endoscopic procedures.

    Byron Holloway, DO, FACS

    Dr. Holloway is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in hernia repairs, minimally invasive surgeries and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS®). As a general surgeon, he can remove dysfunctional and infected organs, mend bowels and fix hernias, often using robotic-assisted procedures. Dr. Holloway believes there are no one-size-fits-all solutions. He works hard to devise a personalized action plan for each patient, utilizing ERAS® principles to minimize post-op pain and improve outcomes.

    Dr. Leone, a board-certified general surgeon, has provided surgical care in Tampa Bay since 2001. He's been recognized as a devoted, attentive surgeon in general surgery, including transplants and complex hernia repair. He specializes in end-stage renal disease, providing surgical care for dialysis access and hyperparathyroidism. Dr. Leone has dedicated his career to offering comprehensive patient care, working with the medical team so patients are thoroughly prepared for optimal outcomes and recovery.

    Dr. Muhammad is a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist and hepatologist with more than 12 years of experience and board certifications in internal medicine, gastroenterology and transplant hepatology. He has advanced fellowship training and an interest in hepatology. Dr. Muhammad believes mutual and active participation between the patient and the care team yields the fastest and best results.

    Kim-Phung Nguyen, MD, PhD

    Dr. Nguyen is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon. She performs minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery to treat colon and rectal disorders. Dr. Nguyen provides care for diseases that affect the lower gastrointestinal tract with a special focus on colorectal cancers, as well as benign conditions like ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis and anorectal disorders.

    Cory O’Brien, SLP

    Cory is a board-certified speech pathologist specializing in the management of voice and swallowing disorders. Cory holds specialty certifications in Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), Videostroboscopy, VitalStim® Therapy, Lee Silverman Voice Therapy Program and the diagnosis of laryngopharyngeal reflux using Restech Oropharyngeal reflux testing. Passionate about providing comprehensive, evidence-based treatment, she was key in developing the Voice and Swallowing Center at AdventHealth Tampa.

    Sagar Patil, MD

    Dr. Patil is a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist treating patients with GI and digestive disorders. He has specialized training in adult GI cancer (prevention, diagnosis and management), inflammatory bowel disease and nutrition. Providing evidence-based treatment is a core principle of his care philosophy. Knowing each patient is unique, his approach is team-based with shared decision-making so that patients take an active role in their health.

  • Sharona Ross, MD

    Sharona Ross, MD, FACS

    Dr. Ross is an advanced foregut, biliary and pancreatic surgeon specializing in robotic and single-incision laparoscopic operations for disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, pancreas, gallbladder and liver. Dr. Ross is a professor of surgery at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, and the director of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Surgical Endoscopy. She is also director of the Advanced GI and HPB Surgery Fellowship, director of the GERD and Esophageal Cancer Center, director of the Pancreatic Cancer Center and director of the Women in Surgery Career Symposium at AdventHealth Tampa.

    Iswanto Sucandy, MD, FACS

    Dr. Sucandy is an internationally recognized, board-certified surgeon with fellowship training in hepatobiliary and pancreatic (HPB) surgery and minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery. He specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery for disorders of the liver, gallbladder and biliary tract. Dr. Sucandy currently serves as division chief of HPB surgery at AdventHealth Tampa and director of Hepatobiliary Surgery and the Center for Advanced Minimally Invasive Robotic Liver Surgery.
