AdventHealth Polk Foundation

A Legacy of Healing, A Future of Hope at AdventHealth Lake Wales

The AdventHealth Polk Foundation extends the healing ministry of Christ by expanding access to whole-person, high-quality care across Polk County. Through philanthropy and community partnerships, more people are getting the care they need, local programs are growing stronger and the health of our community continues to improve.

Since 1928, AdventHealth Lake Wales has been a pillar of compassion, care and community. What started as a modest hospital has grown into a place of whole-person healing where body, mind and spirit are cared for with unwavering dedication.

For nearly a century, generations of caregivers, patients and families have shaped our story. Every life touched and every promise kept reflects our deep commitment to serving with love and excellence.

As we honor our past, we look ahead with purpose. We continue to innovate, grow and uplift the health of our community. At AdventHealth Lake Wales, healing is more than medicine. It is a calling. It is a legacy. It is home.

Heart of Florida 3D Mammography

Mammograms are crucial for early breast cancer detection, yet only half of women over 40 receive them regularly. At AdventHealth Heart of Florida, we aim to detect cancer early so you can return to your loved ones and your favorite activities.

3D mammograms are more effective at finding cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute, breast cancer death rates have been decreasing steadily since 1989, for an overall decline of 44% through 2022. The decrease in death rates is believed to be the result of finding breast cancer earlier through diagnostic screening and increased awareness, as well as better treatments. Our AdventHealth Polk Foundation seeks to bolster this statistic by funding 3D mammography equipment at Heart of Florida.

Your generous donation will enhance early detection and protect the lives of women in Polk County. Join us as we take care of our community!

Lake Wales Cardiac Care

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, with someone dying from a coronary event every 60 seconds. Coronary heart disease causes one out of every four deaths, affecting over 630,000 people annually. Heart disease impacts us all, directly or indirectly.

At AdventHealth Lake Wales, we offer leading-edge heart care in our community. Our dedicated team performs cardiac-related procedures, helping our neighbors live healthier, longer lives. To continue providing exceptional care, we need your support to renew our Cath Lab equipment and purchase a new echocardiographic machine.

These upgrades will help us perform minimally invasive cardiac procedures and enhance the cardiovascular care our community deserves. Your generous donation will directly impact the lives of countless individuals in Lake Wales and surrounding areas, ensuring access to the best heart care available.

Area of Greatest Need

Our AdventHealth Polk Foundation’s goal is simple: support programs and needs that serve Heart of Florida and Lake Wales patients, guests, and team members.

By partnering with us to support our areas of greatest need, you have the opportunity to move health forward by funding patient care priorities. Your donations stay within our hospital and 100% go to the area you designate.

Current programs supported by the Foundation:

  • Love Closet, providing new, fresh clothes to patients upon discharge who are in need.
  • Comfort Cart, volunteer-led rounding with items of necessity or comfort for patients.
  • Heart Failure Kits, sent home with patients with congestive heart failure to help monitor progress in their home setting, therefore reducing readmission.
  • Car seats, pack n plays and necessities for new moms who have a need for safe travel and safe sleeping.

We hope you'll join us to experience how generosity heals.
