Marc's Second Chance: Surviving a Heart Attack
Marc was working under his truck when chest pain hit. Minutes later, he collapsed at the ER doors. The team at AdventHealth North Pinellas rushed into action, performing CPR and using a defibrillator to bring him back from flatline — twice. Matt, one of his nurses, leaned in and said, “You just had a heart attack. Relax. We need to get you through this.”
From the Cath lab to the bedside, every person treated Marc with compassion and urgency. They didn’t just save his life — they gave his daughter, his mom and his entire family a second chance. Because of that care, Marc is alive today. Help ensure every patient receives that same compassion.
Steven’s Life-Saving Care at AdventHealth
In April 2024, Steven collapsed at home and was rushed to AdventHealth Heart of Florida. He was clinically dead for ten minutes before the ICU team brought him back. Doctors placed him in a coma and his family chose AdventHealth Connerton for long-term care. There, Steven woke up and recognized his wife right away.
Today, Steven is walking, breathing on his own and defying expectations. His wife said, “It’s a hospital but it doesn’t feel like one. It feels like hope.” Help bring that same hope to more families.
Kelly’s Birth Story: Compassion in Every Moment
Kelly arrived at AdventHealth Ocala on one of their busiest days, 38 weeks pregnant and anxious to meet her baby girl, Kylie. Even with record patient numbers, the nurses made her feel cared for and comfortable. One nurse, Melanie, went above and beyond. She checked on Kelly every 30 to 40 minutes, guided her through the epidural, played music to help her relax and made sure her privacy was respected. After delivery, when Kelly developed borderline preeclampsia, Melanie stayed by her side, prayed with her, monitored her vitals and even brought oatmeal from her own locker when Kelly couldn't eat.
Because of that care, Kylie is healthy and thriving.
