  • Question: I take specialty medications. Is there additional assistance available for covering the cost?

    Answer:

Some AdventHealth members receiving specialty medication from Rx Plus Pharmacy may qualify for $0 copays after their deductibles have been met.

  • Question: I am diabetic. Is there additional assistance available for covering the cost of my supplies?

    Answer:

As of April 1, 2024, diabetic patients (Type 1 or Type 2) can receive an Accu-Chek Guide Me glucometer, test strips and lancets for a $0 copay by taking the following steps:

    • Ask your provider to provide a new prescription for Accu-Chek Guide Me test strips and lancets to Rx Plus Pharmacy.
    • Contact Rx Plus Pharmacy to request a new Accu-Chek Guide Me glucometer. Note: Free glucometers may take two weeks to ship.

The Accu-Chek Guide Me glucometer is a reliable and easy-to-use blood glucose monitoring system that can help members manage diabetes.

  • Question: I have a copay card. How do I add it to my file?

    Answer:

Copay cards are offered by manufacturers to offset the out-of-pocket cost of medications. If you have a copay assistance card provided by your drug manufacturer that you would like to apply to your copay to reduce the cost of your brand name medication, you may either email a picture of the card or the processing information (BIN/PCN/Group/ID) to RxPlus.Pharmacy@AdventHealth.com, or call Call866-943-4535, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 8 pm EST.

While manufacturer copay assistance cards help save you money, the funds provided from manufacturer copay assistance do not apply toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum.

  • Question: Why do I see an increase in my copay?

    Answer:

Copays may fluctuate due to factors such as distributor pricing, formulary updates, or changes in your dosage or quantity. Typically, you won’t see a significant change in your copay from one fill to the next within the same benefit year. However, if your copay does increase substantially, we will notify you directly. For copays over $100, our team will reach out to you to get approval for your first fill. Once you approve it, we will not reach out unless it increases more than $20. For copays under $100, we will only contact you if there is a change of more than $20 from your last fill.

  • Question: How do I find out if my medication is covered?

    Answer:

Check our Preferred Formulary Drug List for a full breakdown of covered medications and their copay tiers. If you can't find the information you need, contact us and our team will be happy to help.

    More Info

    Faxed Prescriptions

We cannot accept faxed prescriptions for schedule 2 controlled medications. The original written prescription must be mailed to us.

    Valid Dates

Prescriptions for controlled substances are only valid for six months from the date the prescription was written, even if there are refills remaining.

    Returned Medication

Medications cannot be returned to the pharmacy unless the entire package has not been opened.

    Generic Medication

In the state of Florida, it is the law that a pharmacy must dispense a generic drug in place of a brand-name drug, whenever one is available. This law is in place to ensure that the customer or health plan is paying for the least expensive option.

If a physician decides that they would prefer that a pharmacy dispense a brand-name drug instead of the available generic one, “medically necessary” must be written on the prescription. The physician cannot write “dispense brand,” “no substitution,” “DAW,” or “dispense as written.” The pharmacy, by law, is still required to dispense the generic drug unless “medically necessary” is included on the prescription.
