What began as a week filled with anticipation took an unexpected turn for Tess Lipps and his wife, Barb Lipps, when Tess suddenly needed emergency care.
After arriving at the Emergency Room at AdventHealth Manchester with what was initially believed to be a digestive concern, further testing revealed an irregular heart rhythm that required additional scans and procedures. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of multiple care teams, Tess received timely treatment and was able to return home feeling improved and supported.
Throughout their experience, Barb shared deep gratitude for the care they received—from the Emergency Room team to Radiology and Lab services, the nursing staff, aides, physicians, nurse practitioners, dietary team members, environmental services, and the surgical team. She expressed that every person they encountered treated them with the same compassion and care you would offer a family member.
The Lipps family is well known and deeply loved in our community. Tess and Barb serve as pastors at a local church and are former owners of The Axis, where many of our team members fondly remember seeing their smiling faces during lunch visits. While their plans had to change, their message was clear: they could not have been treated better anywhere else.
Stories like theirs reflect the heart of AdventHealth Manchester—where care goes beyond medicine, and healing includes compassion, dignity, and connection. We are honored to care for neighbors like Tess and Barb and wish them continued healing and well‑being.
