TAMPA, Fla. The surgeries were completed over two days at AdventHealth Tampa and AdventHealth Carrollwood by volunteer orthopedic surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams dedicated to delivering whole-person care — addressing patients’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs throughout their healing journey.

At AdventHealth Tampa, eight surgeries were performed by Spencer Smith, D.O., and Brian Palumbo, M.D.

At AdventHealth Carrollwood, nine surgeries were performed by Christopher Grayson, M.D., Stephen Lyons, M.D., and Brian Palumbo, M.D.

More than 200 AdventHealth team members volunteered their time across both campuses, supporting patients from pre-operative preparation through recovery — ensuring each individual felt cared for, supported and valued every step of the way.

For many patients, joint pain can be life-altering, limiting mobility, independence and overall well-being. Through this partnership, patients not only received advanced surgical care, but also the encouragement and compassionate support needed to move forward with confidence.

Operation Walk USA is a national humanitarian initiative that provides free total hip and knee replacements to eligible uninsured adults. Since its inception, the program has served more than 900 patients nationwide, delivering more than $24.6 million in donated joint replacement care.
