Hendersonville, NC (November 29, 2018) Park Ridge Health is excited to welcome Matthew A. Mahar, MD. Board-certified in family medicine, Dr. Mahar has a more than 20-year history of providing excellent, faith-based care to families across Western North Carolina. His commitment to care has gained him a high level of respect from medical and hospital staff, administration and patients.
Dr. Mahar earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1997 and went on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine in 1997 from University of Nebraska Medical Center.
I am passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate, Christian medical care. The mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ falls right in line with my own values and I am dedicated to providing that type of care, says Mahar. My goal is to see every patient through a whole-person perspective mind, body and spirit - in the context in which they live and work to create specific personal health plans that are attainable and affordable.
Dr. Mahar's long-standing reputation for exceptional care in Western North Carolina sets him apart and that is only one of the many reasons we are proud to add him to our Primary Care team, says Christy Sneller, Park Ridge Health Vice President of Physician Services. I look forward to having his caring expertise available to even more people who are choosing Park Ridge Health for exceptional, whole-person care.
Along with caring for families here in Western North Carolina, Dr. Mahar is involved in medical missions and spent a year with his family in Kilkenny, Ireland doing mission work. During this time, he was the Kilkenny Presbyterian Church intern and he was responsible for marriage and parenting curriculum along with marriage counseling, evangelism and discipleship.
Dr. Mahar is married with four children. In his free time, he enjoys being outside mountain biking, fly-fishing, hiking, gardening and bow-hunting.
Dr. Mahar is welcoming new patients at Park Ridge Health South Asheville, conveniently located off I-26, Exit 37, across from the entrance to Biltmore Park. To learn more about Dr. Mahar schedule an appointment or call Call855-774-LIFE (5433).
