AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region's Medical-Surgical Nurse Residency Program has earned Accreditation with Distinction from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, recognizing the program's commitment to helping new nurses transition into practice with confidence and supporting high-quality care for patients across the region.
Following a comprehensive review process, ANCC granted the program a four-year accreditation term through July 31, 2030.
Even more significantly, the program received Accreditation with Distinction, the highest recognition awarded by the ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program.
“Achieving Accreditation with Distinction is an extraordinary milestone that reflects AdventHealth’s mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ. For our team members, this recognition affirms the exceptional culture of support, excellence, and professional growth they create every day," said Rachel Miles, vice president and chief nursing officer for the Rocky Mountain Region.
Accreditation with Distinction is reserved for programs that demonstrate exceptional quality, innovation, outcomes, and commitment to supporting nurses as they transition into professional practice.
This designation recognizes organizations that not only meet rigorous national accreditation standards but also exemplify excellence in program design, leadership, learner support and continuous improvement.
"This recognition belongs to everyone who helped make it possible, and we are deeply grateful for the collaboration that made this milestone a reality,” said Jamie Jones, RMR director of professional development.
This achievement reflects the dedication of our nurse residents, preceptors, educators, clinical leaders and nursing teams across AdventHealth Avista, AdventHealth Castle Rock, AdventHealth Littleton, AdventHealth Parker and AdventHealth Porter.
By fostering a culture of learning, professional development, and compassionate care, they have been instrumental in achieving this distinction.

The accreditation review highlighted several program strengths, including a strong culture of support; dedication to our mission, vision and values; an innovative Nurse Residency Dashboard; and a Professional Excellence Program that encourages mentorship and career growth.
