DELAND, Fla. Join Florida Hospital DeLand on Nov. 12 for the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) awareness golf tournament at Victoria Hills Golf Club, 300 Spalding Way, DeLand.
The cost is $75 per person which includes the tournament and lunch.
The event begins at 8:30 am and proceeds will benefit the Florida Hospital DeLand Foundation COPD Fund.
COPD is a progressive disease that develops slowly and makes it hard to breathe. It can cause coughing that produces large amounts of mucus, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and other symptoms. Symptoms often worsen over time and can limit the ability to do routine activities.
Nationwide, COPD is a major cause of disability, and it's the third leading cause of death. Currently, millions of people are diagnosed with COPD, but many more people may have the disease and not even know it.
