DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. Physicians, nurses, and social workers, as well as respiratory, laboratory, and radiology care providers are invited to join Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center for a free cancer symposium on Nov. 10 at The Shores Resort and Spa, 2637 South Atlantic Avenue (A1A), Daytona Beach Shores.
From 5 pm to 5:30 pm, attendees will enjoy a light dinner, followed by the symposium, focused on current trends in oncology care from 5:30 pm to 9 pm.
Dr. Durado Brooks from the American Cancer Society will discuss improving colorectal cancer screenings, Dr. Kent Hoskins from the University of Illinois at Chicago will address genetic risk assessments of cancer in the community setting, and Dr. Shravan Kandula from Florida Hospital Medical Group will speak on Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT). In addition, Dr. Thomas Seale from Radiology Specialists of Florida will discuss ablation and the role of loco-regional therapies in metastatic liver carcinoma, and Dr. Eric Harris from Florida Cancer Specialists will address melanoma.
This educational activity is approved for continuing medical education (CME) hours and continuing education units (CEU) by the following Florida boards: medicine (physicians), nursing, respiratory, social work, lab, and radiology.
