ORLANDO, Fla. — AdventHealth is expanding access to high-quality, whole-person emergency care in west Orange County with the opening of the AdventHealth Ocoee ER, a new freestanding emergency room designed to care for the rapidly growing community.
Rooted in AdventHealth’s mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ, the new emergency room brings trusted, compassionate care closer to where people live and work. The facility helps meet the growing need for timely emergency services.
“This emergency room reflects our commitment to listening to and growing alongside this community,” said Aimee Keller-Pickford, CEO of AdventHealth Winter Garden, who will also oversee the new ER. “Our mission calls us to be present for people in their most vulnerable moments, and the AdventHealth Ocoee ER ensures that whole-person care is available close to home when it matters most.”
Located at the corner of West Colonial Drive and Dorscher Road, the ER is designed to provide fast, high-quality emergency care in a calm and supportive environment.
The AdventHealth Ocoee ER includes:
- Nine private patient rooms, including a pediatric-friendly room
- Seven low-acuity treatment bays to support efficient patient flow
- Respiratory therapy services
- Advanced diagnostic imaging, including CT scans, X-ray and ultrasound
- On-site full-service laboratory
- On-site pharmacy for patient convenience
The ER is staffed by a comprehensive clinical team, including board-certified emergency physicians and highly trained emergency nurses, supported by the broader AdventHealth network of specialists.
“In an emergency, minutes matter,” said Dr. Arun Malhotra, emergency medicine medical director at AdventHealth Winter Garden. “The AdventHealth Ocoee ER is more than a new access point for care; it represents faster access to life-saving treatment for this community. Our team is prepared to provide expert emergency care with compassion, urgency and respect for every patient who walks through our doors.”
In addition to expanding access to emergency services, the AdventHealth Ocoee ER brings meaningful economic benefits to west Orange County, including approximately 60 clinical and support jobs, while strengthening partnerships with local first responders and community organizations.
