DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., March 6, 2017 Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center has selected Denise McDowell to serve as director of care management.
In this role, she is responsible for overseeing case management and social services operations for Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center.
McDowell is a registered nurse and has more than 35 years of experience coordinating, planning and delivering health care across the continuum.
For 27 years, she served in the U. S. Navy Nurse Corps in various clinical and administrative positions around the globe.
Most recently, she was employed by MedStar Health, the largest healthcare provider in Washington, D.C. and Maryland, for seven years as director for performance measurement and clinical resource management at MedStar St. Marys Hospital and director for outpatient and pulmonary services for MedStar Health.
A Palm Coast resident, McDowell earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and a Master of Science in Nursing from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. Additionally, she is a fellow in the Academy of Healthcare Management, fellow in the Academy of Medical Practice Executives, and a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.
