New AdventHealth pulmonologist offers expanded lung care in Western North Carolina

AdventHealth is pleased to welcome Alexandru Spulber, MD, to its team at AdventHealth Medical Group Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at Medical Office Building*. As a pulmonologist and critical care physician, Dr. Spulber offers expert pulmonary care for a wide range of respiratory and lung diseases, such as COPD, asthma and sleep disturbances.

Dr. Spulber earned his Doctor of Medicine from Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow, Poland. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency Program from Virginia Commonwealth University, and his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care from UCHealth Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, CO.

Dr. Spulber is committed to partnering with patients in their healing journey. He believes that through education and open communication, patients and their families gain the confidence to make informed decisions that align with their values and needs. With every interaction, Dr. Spulber brings a compassionate approach rooted in whole-person care – nurturing body, mind and spirit.

“I consider my role one more of education, giving people a chance to do what is right for them,” Dr. Spulber explains. “If I can make them understand well enough about their body, I believe that empowers them to make the decisions that make them feel at peace and whole with regards to their mind and spirit.”

In his new role, Dr. Spulber will provide specialized pulmonary consultations and treatments, including management of COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease and sleep disturbances. He is also skilled at minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for airways and lungs.

Dr. Spulber was drawn to AdventHealth due to their friendly and engaging community and culture. Their commitment to the highest-quality patient care aligned with his personal desire to work at an organization that fostered excellence and innovation.

“I am just excited to be a part of the culture here! I believe above all as part of work we should be kind, pleasant, and good to one another,” Dr. Spulber shares. “Seeing that it is possible to have this kind of environment and culture made me really excited to get to be a part of it.”

Outside of work, Dr. Spulber feels whole by creating meaningful moments with his wife and young daughter. Whether playing soccer, listening to live music or spending time with their four dogs and two cats, he values being present and purposeful.
