New AdventHealth leadership focused on access and whole-person care in WNC

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. — AdventHealth is pleased to announce Brett Waress, MHA, FACMPE, has joined AdventHealth Hendersonville and AdventHealth Polk as vice president of strategy and service lines.

In this role, Waress will help guide growth across key clinical service lines, strengthening access to high-quality care while supporting the teams who deliver it. His work will focus on ensuring services continue to meet the evolving needs of the communities AdventHealth serves, with a commitment to whole-person care — body, mind and spirit.

Waress brings more than 25 years of health care leadership experience, including roles with Tampa General Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Florida and the University of North Carolina. Throughout his career, he has focused on growing clinical programs, strengthening physician partnerships and supporting care teams so they can remain fully present with patients and families.

“Brett is a leader who understands that health care is not just about strategy, but about people,” said Daniel Tryon, President & Chief Executive Officer for AdventHealth Hendersonville and AdventHealth Polk. “His experience and heart for service will help us continue to provide care that is both clinically excellent and deeply compassionate.”

Waress views health care as a calling rooted in service to others. That commitment extends beyond his professional life. He, his wife and their three children are actively involved in volunteer efforts, reflecting a shared belief in caring for and giving back to their community.
