The Memorial Hospital Foundation held its 6th Annual Gala on 12th October 2016 at Clay County High School (CCHS), to raise money for their OB unit renovation project called Labor of Love.
The Memorial Hospital Foundation was created to raise funds for capital projects within the hospital and other projects in the community. The theme of the gala this year was Masquerade Ball and everyone was encouraged to dress formally.
The festivities were opened up by Erika Skula, President/CEO of Manchester Memorial Hospital, who welcomed the guests, and spoke about the importance of OB renovation at the hospital and what the hospital meant to this community. She was followed by Chaplain Mark Bondarenko, who did the prayer. The Clay County High Schools TIGER Troupe presented a murder mystery through dinner, with interactive scenes with the audience, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
The meal was catered by the hospitals own Chef Terry Crist and was a fare to be raved about for days! Guests were able to participate in many ways this year. A photographer was on-site to take pictures of people dressed in their best and there was a silent auction with plenty of interesting items, such as UK basketball tickets, a table worked on by Chads Hope, personal training sessions at the local gym and many other things.
A memorial table was also set up for the late Dr. Patricia Burke, and after the closing remarks by Erika Skula, Dr. Burkes mother said a few words celebrating Dr. Burkes life and ended the program with a song.
A sincere thanks goes out to all our generous sponsors this year:
