WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — AdventHealth has reached a significant milestone in the expansion of its Winter Garden campus, as the expanded patient tower has achieved its full structural height. This development marks a pivotal step in AdventHealth’s ongoing efforts to expand access to high-quality, whole-person care for the West Orange County community.
“This achievement represents more than just the physical growth of our campus,” said Kari Vargas, CEO of the AdventHealth Central Florida Division North Market, which includes Winter Garden. “It reflects our unwavering commitment to meeting the evolving health care needs of the communities we are part of. Through this expansion, we are strengthening our network of connected care and ensuring that world-class services are available close to home to the residents from this community.”
AdventHealth leaders, team members and construction partners gathered for the traditional topping-out ceremony, which signifies that the highest point of the structure has been reached. The event served as a moment of recognition for the collaborative efforts that have brought the project to this stage.
The 105,000-square-foot expansion project, which began in May 2024, will add three additional floors to the existing structure, bringing the tower to a total of seven stories. In the weeks leading up to this moment, a commemorative beam was on display at the campus for team and community members to sign.
The expansion will significantly enhance women’s health services with the addition of obstetrics and gynecology care. In addition to labor and delivery, the expansion also includes new operating rooms and 80 additional inpatient beds, bringing the hospital to 176 licensed beds. At the same time, construction is underway on the AdventHealth Cancer Institute at Winter Garden. The 60,000-square-foot facility will offer comprehensive cancer care services, including radiation and medical oncology, advanced immunotherapies and personalized treatments tailored to each patient’s genetic profile. Both the tower expansion and the cancer institute are scheduled for completion in summer 2026.
“Together, these developments reflect AdventHealth’s strategic vision to bring exceptional, compassionate care to more individuals and families across West Orange and South Lake counties,” said Dr. Miles Bennett, chief medical officer at AdventHealth Winter Garden.
