Emily Lindsey was recently awarded AdventHealth Gordon’s prestigious Extra Mile Award.
This special award was created by members of the hospital’s Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to deserving employees selected by the hospital’s directors.
Lindsey, who works as a clinical dietitian, was nominated by Andrew Punchard, director of nutritional services at AdventHealth Gordon, with the following words: “Emily has been with us for a little over two years now, and I feel she embodies the meaning of our mission by Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ every day. She cares deeply for people whether they are in a hospital bed or not. Emily works extremely hard in her role as the hospital’s main dietitian, however, she also helps me and others with so many other projects including healthy cooking classes, computer-based projects, additional educational classes, helping the kitchen with large catering functions and stepping in as a leader in my absence. Emily regularly holds common prayer within the department and is extremely popular amongst her peers. For this reason, I have zero reservations about putting her forward for this award as I feel she goes the extra mile daily.”
